You need this feature if your browser looks like this at the end of the day...We all work differently. Some prefer to have a minimal number of things displayed on our screens. In contrast, others thrive when everything is open and within sight.

While I think we can all agree, having 20 (or more) tabs open in your internet browser at any one time can hurt your productivity.

Just because it takes so much time to find the web pages and the services you need to look through, as well as the amount of system resources it consumes.

Fortunately, this might not be a problem for much longer. And before you say it, Yes, Chrome has a similar feature, but it is not as refined.

For all of the Microsoft Edge browser fans, you’ll be interested in a new feature that should debut soon.

Workspaces were revealed initially about a year ago, back in April 2021. But since then, Microsoft has gone very quiet about it. So we assumed it was dead in the water and just moved to the bottom of the list of productivity enhancements.

Recently, a preview build of Edge that’s just come out for developers included an option to create new Workspaces. So, we should all be seeing the feature rolled out within the months ahead with a bit of luck.

Also, with Workspaces, you can group browser tabs and open or close groups with a single click.

There are several ways you might use this. For example, keep work-related and personal information separate. Or group information relating to different projects you might be working on simultaneously.

In addition, groups can be named and color-coded, so it’s easy to find the information when you need it.

Unless you choose to delete a Workspace, all your tabs will be there waiting for you as you left them when you reopen Edge.

There’s no release date for this yet. But if you can’t wait, Google’s Chrome browser already offers a similar tab groups feature.

A simple right-click lets you group tabs, label them, and color code them. You can even reorder them on the tab bar to organize them further.
