Is Android 13 safer for your business? We all use our phones for much more than sending messages and making occasional calls.

And that means most of your staff probably use their mobile device for work now and then. So yes, everyone does it.

The downside is that it puts your business and its data at risk. For example, your data is at risk if the data can be accessed on a personal device and the device gets breached.

That's why the upcoming Android 13 release is big news for businesses.

Google released more information about the new features on its latest operating system for mobile devices and hybrid environments.

Many features aim to keep business data safe and secure while helping your people maintain a good work/life balance.

We can already create separate work and personal profiles on our Android devices, and this new update will make managing these profiles easier.

For example, people can choose which profile they open their apps within.

Let's say they had to watch a training video for work. It would be possible to set your phone to open in a browser window rather than within the YouTube app itself. It would not expose personal viewing history (suggesting videos or history patterns).

IT admins will benefit from more control over how business devices interact with users. They'll also be able to monitor security logs for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and passwords. It would be easier to install security patches and application updates.

But it's not all about admins' control over work-issued devices. Your employees will benefit from having their data encrypted while using their profile.

There will also be separate photo galleries for business and personal photos, an improved Lost Mode to lock and locate lost devices, and end-to-end encryption when using the new ChromeOS integration feature.

If you have a Google device, you should already have access to Android 13. However, many of the newer Android devices can expect to receive the update in the coming weeks.
